Hello!
I am accepting commissions until March 9th, 2018! I create traditional artwork, and will be open to drawing/painting any human or near-human OCs (mermaids, fairies, etc), family portraits, and personal gifts. You can use my sketches for practice, and my lineart for coloring. If you post a colored or traced drawing of mine to DA or anywhere else, please credit me.
Here are some examples of my work:
1. Busts
Sketch: $2 / 200 pts
Lineart: $10 / 1000 pts
Finished (colored pencil and/or watercolor): $15 / 1500 pts
2. To-Waist
Sketch: $4 / 400 pts
Lineart: $13 / 1300 pts
Finished (colored pencil and/or watercolor): $16 / 1600 pts
3. Full Body
Sketch: $8 / 800 pts
Lineart: $14 / 1400 pts
Finished (colored pencil and/or watercolor): $17 / 1700 pts
Extras:
- If you request finer details than body position, expression, general guidelines/references for clothing, etc, I may raise the price by up to 20%.- I will keep in touch throughout the process to make sure you like the drawing, but I will not make changes endlessly. At some point, the piece has to be done.
- If your commission has more than one person, $1.50 (120 pts) will be added for each ($1.50 for two characters, $3 for three characters, etc).
I will not draw:
- Nude portraits- Porn
- Sexual positions
- Anything else I feel uncomfortable drawing because I reserve the right to decline any commission for any reason.
-----
Payment
- Payment should be made by points through DA.- I will not begin the drawing until you have paid at least half of the price - or whatever we negotiate.
- I am willing to negotiate under certain circumstances.
-----
Communication
- You may note me to let me know you'd like to purchase a commission, or you may email me at lilycalico@yahoo.com. Just remember to use your DA username so I know who you are- I will send you images of the portrait throughout the process to make sure you like it. No surprises here!
- To make sure your commission is of the best quality I can create, I will need up to a week to create it.
- The finished piece will be posted here on DA, but with a watermark. I will email you a high-resolution scan of the piece (or send you a Google Drive link through notes).
-----
Again - if you would like to purchase a commission, remember you can always note me, or email me at lilycalico@yahoo.com.
And by the way - if you just skipped to the bottom of the page to comment, PLEASE GO AND READ EVERYTHING. Thank you and have a nice day.
Happy Stress Week
I dunno why I’m posting here, it’s kind of a dead page 🤷🏼♀️ Oh well
It’s Stress Week! Also known as the week before finals - everyone is studying, prepping for juries, practicing for final concerts, rushing to finish papers and praying that they don’t fall behind.
There is so much to do, and so little time. But I’m so glad for everything to finally be over. All semester feels like a constant uphill battle. And finally, all the papers and assignments and tests and compositions will be behind us, and we can take a real break.

Tiny Update
Well, it’s been forever since I’ve written a journal. Or submitted any kind of art.
That’s because college is SUPER busy, and any sketches I do are very rough and in the margins of my notebook. I realize I’ve only ever doodled in one class because I only have one really boring class!! All my others require my full attention, and I’m learning so much.
This is just a tiny update to say that I’m still alive. But for the most part, this account will be dead. Living in the real world is great, though.

The College Life
Hey, guess what!
I’m in college!!
Currently I’m sitting in the lobby of my dorm, trying to do homework at 6:15 in the morning like the weirdo I am. But I got stuck on trying to reharmonize this Bach Chorale, so now I’m just writing a journal.
Yesterday was my first day of classes. Wednesdays have the lightest schedule for me, but I still worked for about five hours on homework my comp professor had assigned before classes officially started. I figured out how to hide in the practice rooms and be productive with my free time all day.
So far, the professors have been just wonderful. I still need to buy a few books for my c
Neglect
<<>> The fan shudders to my left, emanating a noise like static in the room. But though my sister finds the din awful, it’s white noise to me. Almost relaxing. Though I can see why it might irritate someone. The old, metal cage rattles inconsistently, its rhythm changing so curiously, you wonder if it’s just your brain teasing you with the patterns it longs to hear.
It stands on the snare drum that I never use anymore, tucked behind my bed in a place impossible for it to be played. No one ever sees its rough, milky white head, its shiny aluminum snares, coiled underneath. No one ever hears its loud, proclaiming
